How to Track Analytics With Blogger
So you want to track the analytics for your blogsite, but how?
Analytics are crucial to improving your blog site. Analytics provide huge amounts of data regarding your blogsite such as, the amount of visitors, where the visitors are from, where they spend time on your site and more. This information is the lifeblood of continued engagement with your blog.
First, we need a Google analytics account which can be created on their website by using an existing G-mail account. Once an account is created you must set up your account with Google Analytics.
Here you can select what data you wish to share with Google. Next they will ask for "Property Details" meaning the name of your blog page, the time zone it reports in and the currency used in that zone.
Google will ask you to accept their terms of service which you must in order to use their analytics.
Now you will be presented with the Google Analytics home page where under the "Data Sheets" tab you can choose a platform from which to collect data.
The "Data Stream" window will pop-up asking for the URL to your blogsite. Select "Enhanced Measurement" for automatic measurements regarding site interactions.
With the data stream created you will have access to the stream details. We want to copy the "Measurement ID" to the clipboard. The measurement ID is on the far right starting with "G".
Back in Blogger, we want to select the settings tab from the left-hand side column.
From the settings tab scroll to "Basic". Click, "Google Analytics Measurement ID".
A prompt asking for a Google analytics measurement ID will pop-up. Paste the ID from you copied from the Google Analytics page and click, "Save". After 42 hours the Google analytics site will be updated with data from your blogsite.
A blank page presents infinite possibilities, here at Your Blogger's Favorite Blog we want to help you be the best creative you can be. For more assistance on this topic check out Google's documentation for Blogger.
