How to Create a Blog Post: For Beginners

What is the first step to hosting a lively online community?

Creating content for said community to engage with! Today, we will learn how to create a post using Blogger. Posts are to be made once the blog is brainstormed and ideas are specified. Ideally, you should know what the contents of your blog will be about and what intentions you have for the blog site before creating it. Once your posts are brainstormed you should search online for a content management system to host your blogsite. The CMS we are utilizing for this tutorial is Blogger.
Once a Blogger account is created you will be introduced to this page:

The Blogger Landing Page

At the top of the page is a search bar to help quickly sort through posts. Below that is where posts appear and can be managed.

Blogger's Post Feed

On the left hand side, the sidebar can be seen. This houses multiple buttons allowing you to do various things to your blog.

On the Left Hand Sidebar Click New Post at the Top
From the sidebar we want to click on "New Post".

Once clicked, a new window will open with a blank canvas. From here, you may name and create your blog post!

Blank Post Canvas

Once you've created your post, on the right hand side of the canvas you can spot another sidebar.

This sidebar grants access to the post settings, providing the addition of labels which act as "tags" organizing posts and providing keywords for search engines. Additionally, the post's permalink may be accessed and a location can be provided with map directions. Lastly, viewer comments may be allowed or disallowed.

Above "post settings" there is a preview button and a publish button. If the drop arrow next to "preview" is selected a third option presents itself allowing you to save your post instead of publishing it.

A blank page presents infinite possibilities, here at Your Blogger's Favorite Blog we want to help you be the best creative you can be. For more assistance on this topic check out Google's documentation for Blogger.
